Intro to Whole Body Vibration
My name is Gen, I started this web site a couple of years ago to make it easier to find Pilates here in the greater Los Angeles area.
My goal today is to get you interested in the latest technological advancements in the field of
health and fitness:
whole body vibration training.
I've been an athlete since I was a kid, starting with ice hockey and soccer, then on to varsity basketball and volleyball.
While in high school, I strained a ligament in my neck practicing advanced breakdance maneuvers and then later, after
graduating from college, I was playing
Gordon's Aeroball
with some friends from work and I strained something in my mid-back.
These two neck and back injuries would continue to plague me until I discovered hatha yoga, which I practiced diligently,
eventually completely healing both chronic injuries, and in fact strengthening both those areas. Thus marked the beginning of
my personal journey into what martial artists call
internal martial arts - the understanding of the human body from the inside out.
I've been a member of chain gyms, studied a wide variety of movement forms including several forms
of yoga, martial arts, Feldenkrais, private pilates and Gyrotonic and am a certified instructor of
Artform.
I've logged many hours on cardio and resistance training machines, and for all the benefits afforded by those varied exercise forms,
